Since its foundation the Church has been rebuilt twice and stewardship is now shared between Armenians and Greek Orthodox. Local Christians, make the point that pilgrims need not only to come and see the historic buildings but also to spend time meeting with the ‘living stones’ of the historic Palestinian Christian communities.
